Landscaping Tips
Shady perennial beds and borders. Woodlands. Slow to moderate spreader that will form colonies over time. Virginia Bluebells is a spring ephemeral, meaning all parts of the plant including its leaves, go dormant in summer. Leaf mulch helps keep this plant healthy while dormant in summer.
Prairie Fairy Notes
Our Virginia Bluebells were grown by a partner nursery in Brodhead, Wisconsin and are sold in a dormant state. It will look like a pot of grow medium and roots without green top growth. The dormant state helps protect it during transplanting. Make sure to water it to help it get established like you would for any new perennial.
