Nursery
Our nursery is located south of the beltline near Lake Farm County Park at 2890 Henshue Road, Madison, WI 53711.
Orders are fulfilled in 1-2 business days. When your order is placed, you can select if you’d like to pick up your order at our nursery or at one of our farmers market locations. You’ll receive confirmation when your order is ready for pickup or ready to bring to market.
Our home is adjacent to our nursery site. We aren’t currently offering visiting hours with the exception of curbside pickup. Please come see us at one of our farmers market locations!
About us
We are Kristen and Jordan Speicher and we are the growers behind Prairie Fairy Native Plants. We fell in love with native plant gardening and propagation while converting the lawn of our west-side Madison home to a rich habitat to better co-habitate with and support local wildlife.
In late 2023 we moved to our current homestead on 18 acres south of Madison to trade beltline noise for coyote banter and sandhill crane bugling.
In addition to building out our native plant nursery on site, we’ve established organic garden plots, seeded a 3 acre prairie with 150 species, and designed a 115’ native plant labyrinth.
In 2025 we outfitted our entire property to rely on solar energy. Now the grow lights in our spring germination chambers are powered fully by the sun.
It is our hope that our sustainably grown plants empower Madison area residents to help rebuild local ecosystems and find joy in connecting to nature in their own backyards.
