Wild Ginger makes an shade or woodland groundcover. Can also be used as a soft landing under trees. Wild Ginger is appreciated more for its foliage than its flowering behavior. Deer resistant. The roots smell like ginger but Wild Ginger is not commonly used in a culinary capacity. Moderate spreader. Once established it is known for its weed suppression.
